I think I’m tired of hearing people complain about money. We can all complain until we’re dead about our financial difficulties, let alone the failing economic state of our country. Sure, it feels good to let it out sometimes. What I’m tired of hearing is how you “deserve more” or how it sucks that our happiness is so dependent on financial security. Yes, it “sucks.” Don’t like it? Go get a job that pays more, or suck it up because the world runs on money. You’d rather run naked in a field of flowers? Be my guest but please save me your hippie bullshit. Some of us are doing our best and still manage to smile. Don’t forget, someone out there has it worse.

I live off of Hollywood Blvd, across from the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and the Kodak; Needless to say, it is nothing new to come home from work to find that a film crew has shut down my street. I don’t normally give it two shakes, but about two weeks ago I was curious about the particular light/crane operation they had going on, so I investigated.

To my excitement, they were shooting the newest “Muppet Movie,” penned by Jason Segal, starring…you guessed it, Kermit the Frog & Miss Piggy!! I love the Muppets, and today I couldn’t resist streaming “Muppets From Space” on my Netflix. So I thought I would remind everyone of some of my favorite Jim Hensen Puppets: Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, and of course, The Muppets! Major props to all puppeteers.

There are millions of famous images depicting devastation beyond comprehension.

Images that, when viewed, envoke immediate outrage and, well, hatred for the subjects.

We’ve all seen photos that defy us to stare at them, not for their beauty or artistic value, but for the depravity and incomprehensible truth behind them.

One might try to comfort oneself with the idea that such acts aren’t here, in America, on the “homefront.”

But one of you has a husband over there, or a lover, a brother, a friend, a fighter. Someone is seeing these acts with their own eyes, having these images burned into their memories forever. So we think of them. And the fight. And the enemies, and the possibility that *THISWAR* will end.

Don’t let us forget about the war at home, the one not enough people are fighting (because afterall, child abuse and rape are only found in TV Shows & Movies, right?).

Just sayin.
